The Rockville Presbyterian Church professional staff is lead by
Rev.
Carrie Yearick.
Rev.
Carrie Yearick
was formally installed on
September 10, 2006. Rev. Yearick’s background
includes master’s degrees from Duke University,
Durham, NC, in divinity and theology in pastoral
psychology/preaching. Ordained in 1988, Rev. Yearick
served for the past seven years at Fairfax
Presbyterian Church.
In the early years of her ministry, Rev.
Yearick
served three churches in New Hope Presbytery in
North Carolina. She also was a chaplain at Duke
University Medical Center and served as program
director of the Human Services Department at
Piedmont College, Roxboro, NC. Rev. Yearick says her
work in the secular and religious worlds has
sharpened her focus on church leadership. “I have
had the opportunity to be in a variety of church and
secular positions that all emphasize the building of
programs and spiritual lives,” she said. “In all my
church positions, as well as my job with Piedmont
Community College, I was involved with redevelopment
efforts that created strong and vibrant programs and
deep relationships with others. At Piedmont, I was
selected to be on a team that redeveloped the human
services curriculum at the state level. I love
bringing fresh and innovative ideas to a group,
directing team-oriented leadership, delivering
relevant and passionate sermons, providing
compassionate care for young and old and training
the next generation for church leadership.” |
