In the early years of her ministry, Rev. Yearick served three churches in New Hope Presbytery in North Carolina. She also was a chaplain at Duke University Medical Center and served as program director of the Human Services Department at Piedmont College, Roxboro, NC. Rev. Yearick says her work in the secular and religious worlds has sharpened her focus on church leadership. “I have had the opportunity to be in a variety of church and secular positions that all emphasize the building of programs and spiritual lives,” she said. “In all my church positions, as well as my job with Piedmont Community College, I was involved with redevelopment efforts that created strong and vibrant programs and deep relationships with others. At Piedmont, I was selected to be on a team that redeveloped the human services curriculum at the state level. I love bringing fresh and innovative ideas to a group, directing team-oriented leadership, delivering relevant and passionate sermons, providing compassionate care for young and old and training the next generation for church leadership.” Ruei-Hwa Shyu is our Organist and Music Director. Ruei-Hwa was born and raised in Taichung, Taiwan. She received her B.M. from Tunghai University and a graduate certificate from the Royal College of Music in London.
